Seriously worth watching the above video ❤️

I actually came across Jordan only six or so months ago. Like anyone in the public eye these days, he is liked and loathed. I will keep my personal opinion of him private.

But whether you like or loathe him, he is worth listening to. And it is worth finding out more about him. So let's walk down this path and see where our thoughts and opinions go...

Who is he?

Jordan Peterson is a Canadian clinical psychologist, cultural critic, and professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. He first gained widespread recognition for his vocal opposition to Bill C-16, a Canadian federal bill that added gender identity and expression to the list of prohibited grounds of discrimination under the Canadian Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code. Peterson argued that the bill could compel individuals to use gender-neutral pronouns against their will, which he believed violated free speech and individual liberty.

Since then, Peterson has become a controversial figure, attracting both devoted followers and harsh critics. He has published several books, including "12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos," which has sold millions of copies worldwide. In his books and lectures, Peterson offers practical advice on how to live a meaningful life, drawing on insights from psychology, philosophy, mythology, and religion.

So why should you care about Jordan Peterson? Here are a few reasons:

He offers a unique perspective on life: Peterson's ideas are not easy to categorize, which is part of their appeal. He draws on a wide range of disciplines to offer a perspective on life that is both practical and profound. His ideas have resonated with many people who feel adrift in a rapidly changing world.

He promotes personal responsibility: Peterson is a strong advocate of personal responsibility. He argues that we should take responsibility for our own lives and not blame external factors for our problems. This message has resonated with many people who feel frustrated by a culture that emphasizes victimhood and grievance.

He challenges prevailing orthodoxies: Peterson is not afraid to challenge prevailing orthodoxies, whether they come from the left or the right. He is a critic of political correctness, identity politics, and postmodernism, but he is also critical of some aspects of conservatism. His willingness to challenge established ideas has made him a lightning rod for controversy, but it has also made him a voice for those who feel marginalized by the status quo.

He encourages intellectual curiosity: Peterson is a strong advocate of intellectual curiosity. He encourages people to read widely and to engage with ideas that challenge their assumptions. He believes that we can only grow as individuals if we are willing to confront our own ignorance and biases.

He promotes civil discourse: Peterson is a strong believer in civil discourse. He argues that we should engage with people who hold different views from our own in a respectful and productive manner. He has been criticized for his confrontational style, but he believes that it is necessary to challenge people's assumptions if we are going to have meaningful conversations.

In conclusion:

Jordan Peterson is a controversial figure who has attracted a significant following by offering a unique perspective on life. His ideas about personal responsibility, intellectual curiosity, and civil discourse have resonated with many people who feel frustrated by a culture that emphasizes victimhood and grievance. Whether you agree or disagree with him, it is worth paying attention to what he has to say. Do you agree?
