I have said this before, but I am pretty sure that the majority of the population of each country in the world does not want to go to war.
Most people agree that it is only the governments and those silent people in power that angle us towards war.
So, how do we stop war? I'm not going to lie, it's extremely difficult, because usually war starts as a result of someone's - or a group of people's - mind having experienced a level of life changing hurt that they are not prepared to tolerate and they want to either defend themselves from feeling that way again and or take revenge on the hurt already done. It takes someone of incredible character to want to sit down and find peace, especially when emotions are high.
All I can say is, everyone should always aim for peace, no matter how much hurt has been inflicted. How you do that is tough. You could refuse to fight. You could write protest letters. You could even create a peace movement. I think the hippie movement had it almost right. Their slogan, "Peace not war!", says it all.
