I asked both ChatGPT and Google Bard AI platforms will there be a World War 3 and when will it happen

As you know, I am fascinated with AI and what it thinks.

Every day I keep hearing the media seeding the thought of the world going to war. No peace talks are being mentioned or planned for the Ukraine War. Country governments are choosing sides and the whole situation appears to be heading towards a conflict of some kind.

That is why I wanted to find out from the hyper intelligence of an AI mind what it thinks about a future World War 3.

Specifically, I asked two of the world's best AI minds: "Will there be a World War 3 and when will it happen". This is what they replied...

ChatGPT Answered:

The idea of a third world war has been a concern for many people for years. With the previous two world wars causing widespread devastation and loss of life, the prospect of a third war is understandably frightening. However, predicting the likelihood and timing of a hypothetical World War III is a complex and highly speculative issue.

It is important to note that there is currently no indication of an imminent third world war. The world is facing various challenges and conflicts, including regional conflicts, economic instability, and geopolitical tensions, but these do not necessarily lead to global warfare.

That said, the possibility of a future world war cannot be ruled out entirely. The world is still dealing with various global issues such as climate change, nuclear proliferation, cyber warfare, and terrorism, which could potentially escalate into a large-scale conflict.

The risk of a third world war may also depend on the actions of major global powers. Countries with significant military and economic capabilities such as the United States, China, Russia, and India have the potential to cause conflict, either intentionally or unintentionally. However, it is worth noting that these countries also have strong diplomatic channels and mechanisms in place to resolve disputes.

It is difficult to predict when a hypothetical World War III could happen, but many experts agree that it is more likely to occur in the distant future rather than in the near term. However, the risk of a major conflict cannot be ruled out entirely.

In conclusion, while it is important to be aware of potential threats and conflicts around the world, it is important not to panic about the possibility of a third world war. The international community must continue to work together to resolve conflicts and prevent the escalation of tensions that could potentially lead to global warfare.

Google Bard Answered:

The possibility of a third world war has been a topic of discussion for many years. Some people believe that it is inevitable, while others believe that it is possible to avoid. There are a number of factors that could contribute to a third world war, including:

- Tensions between major powers: The United States, Russia, China, and other major powers have been increasingly at odds in recent years. This could lead to a conflict between these countries, which could quickly escalate into a global war. - Regional conflicts: There are a number of ongoing regional conflicts, such as the war in Ukraine and the conflict in Syria. These conflicts could spread to other countries, or could lead to a major power intervening. - Nuclear weapons: The use of nuclear weapons could cause a global catastrophe. If a major power were to use nuclear weapons, it is likely that other countries would retaliate, leading to a nuclear war. It is difficult to say when a third world war would happen, if it does happen. However, it is important to be aware of the risks and to take steps to prevent a war from happening. There are a number of things that can be done to reduce the risk of a third world war, including:

- Dialogue and diplomacy: Major powers should continue to engage in dialogue and diplomacy with each other. This can help to reduce tensions and prevent conflicts from escalating. - Arms control: Major powers should work to reduce their nuclear arsenals. This can help to reduce the risk of nuclear war. - Economic cooperation: Major powers should work together to promote economic cooperation. This can help to build trust and reduce the risk of conflict.

It is important to remember that a third world war would be a devastating event. It is possible to prevent a war from happening, but it requires the cooperation of all major powers.

My thoughts...

I felt Bard was a little more angled towards finding a peaceful solution.

And I agree.

I have said this before, but I am pretty sure that the majority of the population of each country in the world does not want to go to war.

Most people agree that it is only the governments and those silent people in power that angle us towards war.

So, how do we stop war? I'm not going to lie, it's extremely difficult, because usually war starts as a result of someone's - or a group of people's - mind having experienced a level of life changing hurt that they are not prepared to tolerate and they want to either defend themselves from feeling that way again and or take revenge on the hurt already done. It takes someone of incredible character to want to sit down and find peace, especially when emotions are high.

All I can say is, everyone should always aim for peace, no matter how much hurt has been inflicted. How you do that is tough. You could refuse to fight. You could write protest letters. You could even create a peace movement. I think the hippie movement had it almost right. Their slogan, "Peace not war!", says it all.
